Municipal elections are held every four years. The next election will take place on August 2020.
Disconnects are processed Monday at 5:00 p.m. before the third Tuesday of each month. An administrative fee of $50.00 will be charged to any delinquent account at that time. Accounts with a previous balance will be disconnected the third Tuesday of the month beginning at 6:30 a.m. Account must be paid in full by cash or credit card by 2:00 p.m. for same day restoration if disconnected for non-payment or return item.
Bank Drafts – Save you time and the convenience fee.
You can have your utility payment drafted each month. Bills are drafted on the 25th or the next working day. There is no convenience fee for Bank Drafts.
A drop box is located in the City Hall parking lot for customers who prefer to drop off your payment. If you choose to use the drop box, please remember any payments placed in the drop box after 4:30 p.m. will not be processed until the next working day.
Did you know you can make your utility payments 24 hours a day at our payment kiosk? The kiosk allows you to use a credit card, debit card, check or money order to make your payment. It is located at City Hall on Highway 31, to the left of the front entrance.
Register to view your account online and you will have access to your utility account 24 hours a day where you can submit a service request, make a payment arrangement or pay your utility bill. To pay your utility account online, you will pay a convenience fee of $1.25.
Pay by Phone:
Beginning November 1, 2018 you will call our toll free number 833-326-7017 to make your utility payment by using your debit or credit card. Please note the Utility Department will no longer accept payments over the phone, you must use the toll free number. To pay your utility bill by telephone, you will pay a convenience fee of $1.25.
If you call city hall at 205-668-3500, you should press option 2 to pay by phone. You will need your account number and street address to make your payment; you will pay a convenience fee of $1.25.

The Fire Department also has a stake in the protection of the environment. The department supervises the clean-up of fuels, oils and coolants that may affect our natural resources.
If you think you smell gas, do not turn off / on any electrical appliances including light switches. Leave your home immediately. Make a call to us from a neighbor’s house or a cell phone outside of your residence, away from the smell of gas. Call (205) 668-3500 24/7 and someone will come out to investigate the smell for you.

Pricing for pavilion reservations are $15.00 for 1/2 day (6:00 am - 1:30 pm or 1:30 pm - 10:00 pm) or $30.00 for the full day. (Click Here to reserve a pavilion online).

If you want to file a police report, please call (205) 668-3505 or come by the office located at 10947 Highway 25, (across the street from Central State Bank). Please remember that calling or speaking with a police employee does not mean that a report was filed. Ask the officer for a report number.
You can obtain a copy of your report by coming by our police records office at the Calera Police Department (10947 Hwy 25). Hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Records is closed for lunch between Noon-1pm . Copies are $1 per page, $5 minimum. Please contact us at (205) 668-3889 for pricing schedules for other media such as videos, photos, etc.
If you witness or hear of activity you suspect to be a crime or suspicious activity, there are several ways you can report this without fear of being identified. All information received will be dealt with by its own merit. The Police Department will not take action on unsupported information; however that does not mean that the matter will not be reviewed. You can contact the police at (205) 668-3505. Your identity is not crucial in all cases however for us to be effective with your concerns, we may need to contact you if we have questions.
