From the Alabama Department of Transportation:
Planned Lane Closures on US-31 Northbound and Southbound and SR-25 Southbound, in Calera at Milepost 242.8 (Highway 31 and Highway 25 in downtown Calera)
Weather permitting, beginning at 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 27th, the Alabama Department of Transportation will close the outside, southbound lane of US-31 and the inside, northbound lane of US-31 approaching SR-25 in Calera to conduct paving operations.
The following movements will be restricted at the intersection of US-31 and SR-25:
o US-31 Southbound to SR-25 Southbound toward Montevallo
o US-31 Northbound to SR-25 Southbound toward Montevallo
o SR-25 Northbound to US-31 Northbound
• An alternative route detour will be in place following Shelby Couty Road 16 (8th Avenue) and Shelby Couty Road 63.
All travel lanes are expected to re-open at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 29th.
Motorists are requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area. ALDOT thanks motorists for their patience during this Construction Operation to improve Alabama’s roadways.
