[ARCHIVED] Library Assistance Available

To assist our citizens and school children during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Roy Downs Memorial- Calera Library has four pubic access computers available in the lobby to use for e-learning and other patron needs. These computers were recently updated by the IT department and are in great working order. These computers are thoroughly cleaned twice a day.

The library has also expanded the WIFI to be able to be accessed from the parking lot 24 hours a day, without a password, in case you want to sit in your vehicle and do schoolwork. For safety, parents must accompany their children while they are at the library.

Also, the library has an extensive selection of books for parents that have chosen to home school their children. You can contact the library and they can suggest books to assist you with supplementing your curriculum. There are also two digital catalogs available for e-books and any resident who has never had a card may apply for a card for free at any time. If you have any other specific needs, please contact the library and they will make as many accommodations as possible to help you achieve your learning goals.

The library is following the recommended COVID-19 quarantine guidelines that have been suggested by the CDC and Institute of Museum and Library Services, in an attempt to keep our patrons and employees as safe as possible during this time.
