Ernest was born in Saginaw, Alabama but has lived nearly his entire life in the City of Calera. He also went to school here in Calera from elementary through high school. During that time, Mr. Montgomery met his wife, Azalene, and they have been together for over 34 years.

Mr. Montgomery is thankful to be currently serving his third term as a council member for the citizens of Calera. He has served on many other boards for the city. Some of his board memberships include 13 years on the Planning & Zoning Board, 5 years on the Calera Water Board, 4 years on the Revitalization Board, and 3 years on the Farmers Committee.
