Regarding Water and Wastewater

Dear Calera Utility Customer,

This letter serves as notice to inform you of the upcoming utility rate increase for water and wastewater services that will appear on your January 2023 billing cycle, due on February 25, 2023. The City Council and Water Board hired Jackson Thornton Certified Public Accountants and Consultants to provide a Water and Wastewater Cost of Service Study. The results of their study were presented at the Water Board and City Council meetings on November 21, 2022. The presentation given to the City Council can be viewed by clicking here. 

Water Rates as of the January 2023 Billing Cycle – Due February 25, 2023

First 2,000 gallons                                                                            Minimum Inside City Limits:  $22.58

                                                                                                         Minimum Outside City Limits: $24.48

Next 3,000 gallons                                                                           Per 1,000 gallons: $5.57

Over 5,000 gallons                                                                           Per 1,000 gallons: $4.00

 

In addition to the above-listed water rates, there is a 4% utility tax on your bill.

Have your bill sent by email instead of the US Postal Service by contacting City Hall at 205-668-3500, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, to request this service.
